I was stuck and unmotivated.

Avoid these mental pitfalls if you want to be a successful freelancer.

When I started my freelance business 2 years ago, I was struggling to even make Rs. 10,000-20,000 per month.

I felt stuck and unsure if I could even survive.

Let’s be honest freelancing can be challenging at times.

I just wanted to make 1 Lakh consistently and efficiently.

But life had other BIGGER plans.

In a matter of 15 months, everything changed. With a few key mindset shifts, I broke into 6 figures and found success as an agency owner.

The transition was challenging but worth it.

After I closed the 30th client for my agency.

Here are the 5 changes that transformed my income and business:

Just to make it a little more digestible I have attached a one-thing section to each mindset shift to make sure it is actionable and not just philosophical.

After all,

1. Stop Taking Things Personally

I used to get offended if a lead said no or a client questioned my advice. Then I realized it’s just business - never personal. Now rejection and criticism don’t faze me.

One thing : I journaled my feelings out of it.

Bad sales call : write it out.

Bad client experience : write it out.

JUST WRITE IT OUT.

2. Get Ultra Clear on Your Goals

I had fuzzy visions of “making more money” or “growing my agency”. Then I set 12-month revenue goals and ideal client profiles - this clarity changed everything.

One thing : I went specific on numbers, places and even the time I would take to get from point A to point B.

3. Focus on One Offering Only

I used to say yes to every client and offer every service. Then I niche-downed into one core offering only. This is when my agency finally took off.

Remember if you stand for everything you stand for nothing.

One thing : Have a qualifying form for your services, it will save you time and efforts.

Note: If you are an absolute bigger please don’t follow this advice blindly.

4. Find Enjoyment in the Process

Earning well-meant little when my days felt boring and repetitive. I injected more creativity into my work and soon monotony turned into motivation.

One thing: I always find a few new projects to work on, it keeps me sane ;)

5. Invest in Your Own Brand

I used to think personal branding was vain. But building my reputation online attracted way more clients with less effort. My authority opened every door.

One thing: One platform : publish regularly : 30 days.

The money followed naturally once my mindset changed. Hope this gives you a new outlook too!

My mentor once told me when you feel you don’t need more mindset or consistency advice, you need it the most.

Everything happens once you have your mind in the right place :)
