I almost quit linkedin

It isn't as easy as you think.

It took 6 months to get my first viral post on Linkedin.

I was on the verge of quitting LinkedIn.

No wonder I was making one of the most common mistakes you could ever think of.

I was trying to invent the wheel rather than modelling one.

Building an audience online has a lot to do with analysis and research.

Originality is a myth in online writing.

It is a pure delusion.

Once I started to decode how other people are getting insane virality I got my first post viral within 24 hours.

So if you are on the other side of the table right now, don’t worry, I got your back.

“The Growth Curve”

You have landed on the right newsletter if you

  • Think that being unique is the only growth hack.

  • Crib about getting 2 likes on a post that took 3 days to draft.

  • Loose momentum due to no immediate rewards for your efforts.

  • Get pissed by looking at the generic posts that go crazy viral.

Leverage is a big component of creating content online.

And no matter how much we debate over it, the right visibility is clearly more business.

Most people either focus too much on consistency or quality, completely ignoring the research, analysis and breakdown part.

I have a 60-minute slot every alternate day just to consume and break down the work of other creators and why it did well.

It helps me get 750,000 impressions monthly.

Let me tell you one thing.

Virality is pure science.

Gaining impressions is simple math.

There are 3 core components of a good post.

  1. Idea

  2. Writing Style

  3. Length

Poor Impressions = Bad Idea (No one relates to) + Tough writing (No one can comprehend) + Too long (No one would stick around)

Great Impressions = Good Idea (People relate to) + Easy writing (Write for them to understand) + Crisp & concise (Get that attention)

It took me 2 years to get to this point. It wasn't an overnight realization.

After analysing over 200+ creators I can say that using these 5 templates is a go-to way to get started on your road to real LinkedIn growth.

Template 1

Central Idea: As a writer, you just don’t solve the problems of your readers but rather also make them realise that they have them in the first place. Agitation is a golden element.

X months back I was struggling with a Y problem.
